At Rosario, group work is a method that we often use when working with young people.
Groups normally form within the centre based on pre-existing friendships, young people having similar needs or interests, similar age ranges, or young people who have identified a topic-specific group i.e. Climate Action or Mental Health and so on.
All groups are based on the needs of their members and the leading staff member/s will work with the young people to establish the direction, aims and objectives of the group or programme.
The duration of the group is really up to the members; however, most groups meet once a week for at least one hour until their aims have been met, but this can be altered when young people feel it is needed.
